Course content

1. Korean Writing System : Students should be able to read and write Korean. 2. Greeting & introduction : Students should be able to greet and introduce themselves in Korean 3. Request & Suggestion : Students should be able to make requests, suggestions, commands 4. Point at things : Student should be able to point at things using Korean expressions. 5. Present tense Verbs and adjectives : Students should be able to describe their daily life using Present tense Verbs and adjectives. 6. Time : Students should be able to tell time using Korean numbering system. 7. Past tense verbs and adjectives : Students should be able to describe what they did using past tense verbs and adjectives. 8. Locations & Direction : Students should be able to describe the position of things and indicate the direction toward a place. 9. Phone call : Students should be able to make a call in Korean 10. Introducing Family member (Active Korean 2-1) : Students should be able to use honorific expressions for introducing an elder person. 11. Transportation (Active Korean 2-2) : Students should be able to speak about transportation.(get on, get off, transfer etc.) : Students should be able to conjugate irregular verbs

The objective of this course is to create and strenghten students' ability to understand basic spoken Korean and to develop their basic conversational skills used in common situations.

Parallel enrollment in courses Reading 1, Listening 1 and Writing 1. This is course is for first-year students of Korean Studies.
