Learning outcomes
|
This course focuses on closer exploration of particular parts of speech, word and kanji homonyms and synonyms, and English loanwords. Part of the course is devoted to semantic differences of similar syntactic constructions and also to Japanese honorifics.
Upon completion of the course, students will have a larger vocabulary and demonstrate a functional understanding of different usages and semantic differences of a number of expressions and syntactic structures.

The course is designed for the M.A. program Japanese major students.
