Topic areas: Language and rhythm, The easy-to-understand Japanese, Books with furigana, Considerateness, I know "Shall we dance?", Play (drama), Japan's husband's dilemma, The key to improving Japanese is the use of passive form; Pun, About manga, Language in time changes, How to count, About kanji and kana, Masshiro na uso (Murakami Haruki), Mukashi yuhi no koen de (Otsu Ichi), etc.

Learning outcomes

The course aims at further development of reading skills, broadening vocabulary and the knowledge of kanji (strategy of reading kanji), practising translation into Czech and linguistic analysis. The topics are focused on widening students' knowledge of Japanese society and culture.
In the test students demonstrate a good knowledge of vocabulary and kanji (reading, meaning) from the selected topics. They have improved their reading skills by practising various reading techniques (scanning, skimming etc.). They have also broadened their knowledge of Japanese society and culture.

|
Student performance, Didactic Test
regular home assignments (preparation of given text), lecturing of one lesson (including text analysis and preparation of additional activities), regular kanji tests, final test (interpretation and translation), 70% class attendance
