Course content
Lessons 1 - 4 of the Japanese textbook, vol. II L1 Main text: "Japanese grammar" The usage of the word "onaji"; expressing similarity and difference; grammatical structures with "wake" etc. L2 Main text: "Japanese honorifics" Summary of the usages of Japanese numeratives and interrogative expressions, expressing command (wish) and prohibition; meanings and usages of the verb "kakeru" etc. L3 Main text: "Trip to the mountains" Grammatical structures: asking and giving advice; meanings and usages of the verb "ukeru" etc. L4 Main text: "Japanese names and surnames" Grammatical structures: constructions with "kagiru" and "kagiri", auxiliaries "agaru", "ageru" etc.

Learning outcomes
This course is designed to develop students' Japanese language skills, both spoken and written, at the pre-intermediate to intermediate level.
On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to: demonstrate a good command of basic Japanese grammar structures and pre-intermediate to intermediate competency in reading and writing Japanese.
Prerequisites
Successful completion of the courses Japanese 1 - 2.
