Course content
1. Characteristic features of business world communication/commercial correspondence (specific language, style, norms, etc.) 2. Memo, fax, e-mail 3. Sales letters 4. Enquiries 5. Orders, requirements 6. Complaints 7. Confirmation letters 8. Payment, invoicing 9. CV, Job application 10. Covering letters 11. Letters of intent, reference letters 12. Social, personal letters

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Methods of Written Work, Demonstration
  • Attendace - 24 hours per semester

Learning outcomes
Students become aquainted with the fundamental and most frequently used formats of commercial correspondence and written communication.
Students are able to use theory in practice (i.e. they are able to express themselves and use the fundamental forms of commercial correspondence/communication).
Prerequisites
English knowledge - CEFR B1-B2. Language of instruction: English and Czech.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Analysis of linguistic

Active participation in the seminar (max. of two absences provided that written assignments are submitted subsequently); self-study and written home assignments.
