Course content
|
The particular content of the course is determined by the thesis supervisor. The first part of the course provides methodological and other important instructions necessary for writing a successful graduation thesis. The second part of the seminars takes form of individual consultations based on the particular topic of the thesis.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the seminar is to begin to work on the student's graduation thesis. At the beginning students will learn general metodological principles applicable to academic papers, citation methods etc. They will learn more about working with data and research literature.
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to: - collect important information concerning their research topic, analyze and specify it, - select literature concerning the topic, chose relevant theories - collect empirical data and analyze it based on relevant theories They have a functional understanding of how to write a graduation thesis and will keep working on their own thesis topic.

The course is designed for students who chose to write their graduation thesis in the field of Japanese studies.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Seminar Work
Participation in the course guarantees systematic work on the thesis and therefore the credits received are part of the final evaluation of the thesis. Particular requirements for this course are determined by individual supervisors. Active participation in classes, regular work and submission of at least 10 pages of the thesis.
