Course content |
In this seminar we look at the role of ethnicity, religion and nation in Indonesia and Malaysia. In both countries, ethnicity and religion are important components in national and local politics, but they also shape how local communities live together. Topics we will discuss are ethnicity and Islam in politics, the governance of religious diversity, religious freedom, indigenous communities and the Chinese ethnic minority.
