Emergency event, acute stress reaction, coping resources during an emergency, resilience, support and assistance for individuals experiencing an emergency situation. During practical training, students will learn procedures for working with individuals experiencing an acute stress reaction, based on the "RAPID" model. Special emphasis is placed on vulnerable populations (seniors, individuals with psychiatric conditions, children, and others). As part of hands-on training through model scenarios, participants will learn to: * identify acute stress reactions * conduct supportive conversations with a focus on active listening * stabilize affected individuals * seek out social supports and resources * identify cases where further professional care is indicated Additional practical topics include self-care in helping professions and psychosocial support procedures during large-scale emergencies.
