The lectures will therefore focus on the specifics of Christian ethics: - the ethos of the Old Testament - the ethos of the New Testament - the plurality in Christianity and the resulting plurality of moral attitudes - the argument from nature - conscience - Christian bioethics - the social doctrine of the Church - sin and reconciliation

Learning outcomes
|
To understand and present the attitudes of Christian organizations, it is essential to know the values and ethical concepts on which they are based. The lectures will therefore focus on the specifics of Christian ethics: - the ethos of the Old Testament - the ethos of the New Testament - the plurality in Christianity and the resulting plurality of moral attitudes - the argument from nature - conscience - Christian bioethics - the social doctrine of the Church - sin and reconciliation During the seminars, students will follow and analyze the topics discussed in the current religious ethical discourse.
After completing the course, you will be able to: - distinguish the main denominations and streams in Christianity with regard to their ethical sentiments - identify the basic ethical lines in the Old and New Testaments - use the basic ethical categories in Christianity - compare different positions on controversial ethical issues within Christianity
