Learning outcomes
|
To understand and present the attitudes of Christian organizations, it is essential to know the values and ethical concepts on which they are based. The lectures will therefore focus on the specifics of Christian ethics: - the ethos of the Old Testament - the ethos of the New Testament - the plurality in Christianity and the resulting plurality of moral attitudes - the argument from nature - conscience - Christian bioethics - the social doctrine of the Church - sin and reconciliation During the seminars, students will follow and analyze the topics discussed in the current religious ethical discourse.
Upon completion of the course, the student will: - be able to identify the basis for different approaches to ethics - know the ethical emphases of the major Christian traditions - know the basic terminology in Christian ethics

The student has a basic knowledge of philosophical ethics.
