Course content
|
Content of the course: 1) Theology as a plurality of possible approaches/schools of thinking in the history of Christianism. 2) Historical models of Christian theology. 3) Current models of Christian theology. 4) Definition and historic formation of the term 'dogma'. 5) Theory of the development of dogma since modern period. 6) Method of interpretation/exegesis of the dogma. 7) 'Hierarchy of truth' of the Christian faith: its christological, dogmatic and ecumenical dimension.

Learning outcomes
|
1) To understand deeply that the phenomenon of the Christian theology has been developed since its origin as a wide spectrum of approaches with a variety of methodologies. 2) To think critically the phenomenon of 'Christian doctrine' in its twofold aspect: a) the development of the Christian doctrine and b) the need for a still needed right interpretation of the Christian doctrine (dogma).
Students will be able to broaden their look on the development of the Christian doctrine in a pluralism of both possible and legitimate approaches. Students will also be able to think critically the pertinency of interpretation of the Christian doctrine in its historical development and in a changing cultural context.

Prerequisites
|
The prerequisite is to have concluded the previous course Method in systematic theology (KST/MTMST).

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Student performance
Study of offered videopresentations accompanied by participation in at least half of offered webinars. Study of obligatory bibliography suggested during the course. Ongoing tests during the semestr and the final colloquium.
