Course content
|
Ethics and ethical education. Basic ethical concepts: good, evil, love, virtue, value, guilt, shame, character etc. Formation of ethical attitudes and skills - relationship to oneself, to people and human creations, to nature. Teacher - guide and inspirator vs. instructor and coach. Prosocial education.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is for students to understand basic ethical concepts such as good, evil, morality, virtue, ethical and unethical behavior, guilt, shame, punishment, etc. and then be able to apply it in educational practice using appropriate didactic methods. The students have to understand the issue of prosocial education as a part of ethical education from both theoretical and practical point of view.
Students will understand basic ethical concepts. S/he distinguishes ethical and prosocial education. S/he will acquire skills in basic components of ehical education (vision, content, methods, style) and prosocial skills. Student will manage the methodology of practicing individual skills and virtues conecting with ethical education.

Assessment methods and criteria

Student performance, Seminar Work
100 % attendance on course. Active participation in seminars. Students with an individual study plan are required to attend the first seminar, where they will subsequently be informed of the requirements for successful completion of the course. Elaboration of partial assigned tasks during the semester according to the criteria, realisation of activities and subsequent putting of papers into Moodle. Students with specific educational needs will have course completion requirements adapted to their type of disability. The modification of the requirements may include an extension of time for written tests and papers, alteration of the point assessment in written papers, or changes to the classroom environment and necessary study aids.
