Course content
|
Students gradually acquire knowledge about all types of disabilities, their basic characteristics and potential educational approaches.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the basics of special pedagogy: basic terms, basic division of special pedagogy branches, history of approaches to people with disabilities, paradigm change in special pedagogy. After completing this course, students will have a basic understanding of the issue of people with disabilities. They will be able to use the terminology adequately. Furthermore, they will know basic educational and communication strategies for approaching people with disabilities.
Students will have the necessary knowledge to distinguish individual types of disabilities and will be able to adequately use basic special education terminology. Furthermore, they will be equipped with competences for basic communication with people with disabilities.

Assessment methods and criteria
|

Students must meet at least 80% participation in class. In the event that their absence is greater, they must prepare a seminar paper - an assignment in the course Moodle. The course is completed by successfully completing a written test. In the event that a student has a longer absence, he/she may come to take the written test on the agreed date, but successful completion of the course will be recorded in the stag only after the aforementioned seminar paper has been sent and approved. Students with ISP will prepare the aforementioned seminar paper and appear for the final written test.
