Course content
The topics of Basics in Andragogy concern: 1. The concept of adult education, its structure and subject. 2. Types of adult education (school, leisure, civic, professional adult education) 3. Particularities in adult education. 4. Profile of a lecturer in adult education (identification of the role of social educator in adult education). 5. Organizational forms and methods of adult education. 6. Distant forms of adult education. 7. Professional education, care for human resources. 8. Interest courses for adults. 9. Senior education. 10. Mass media as a means of adult education.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is that students should have the following knowledge, skills and values that we mention below. On the basis of this course the student should define the current concept of adult education and its relationship to social pedagogy and also remember the basic andragogy concepts and understand them (i.e. define these terms on the basis of their own examples). They should also correctly explain the kinds of adult education (school, leisure, civic, professional adult education) and the role of teacher (or other educators in it - in this way students will be able not only to understand the work of these educators in the field of methods and forms of teaching, but also will be able to discuss, interpret appropriate behavior of educators towards different groups of adults and know how to use the methods and forms with a selected group of adults in practice, this practice will be trained during the tutorials and analyzed). At the same time students will identify possibilities for contemporary concept of distance learning. They will also be able to express their own form of basic concepts in human resources and during tutorials they will analyze problems of personnel directors (in job interviews and also problems with personnel etc.) and on the basis of this analysis the students will create their own solution to such a situation. During the study of this subject they will also understand interest education and its role in the lives of adult education and also define education of the elderly and its possibilities. They will also be able to understand the influence of mass media on the education and training of adults and define concepts such as media literacy, the students will also be able to assess the effect of the media on the adult population. The subject innovation has been supported by the project Support of Interdisciplinary studies and Study Programmes Innovations at Palacký University in Olomouc, CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0091.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Active participation in the seminars and final test (at least 70%). The student is required to work with the learning objects, which have been created for the concrete subject and are available for authorized students in LMS EDIS.
