Course content
Main paradigms of pedagogical research (quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods of pedagogical research), key concepts (theory, research question, research methods...), ways of realization of pedagogical research so as kind of research design (case study, ethnography study research design. biography research, narrative analysis research design, comparative analysis, interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA), grounded theory (GT), discourse analysis, evaluation analysis).

Learning outcomes
Within the subject of methodology of pedagogy I students will acquire knowledge of research in pedagogy and basic concepts and phases of educational research (theory, research question, research methods, etc.). Students will be able to distinguish quantitative and qualitative research and basic paradigms. They will characterize and distinguish individual designs of qualitative research.
Students will be competent to - differentiate qualitative from quantitative research approach, - characterize main concepts and methods of qualitative research approach, - distinguish qualitative research approach (designs), - write a seminar work.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Student performance, Seminar Work

Active participation at courses, drawing up a seminar paper with proven knowledge and with an application of particular qualitative research design. Presentation of knowledge on the exam.
