Course content
Family in the contemporary society ? basic characteristics and contextualization; the contextualization of an individual in the family from the point of view of politics; contemporary family in the intergenerational and between relatives context; couple and intimacy; parenthood, role of the child, position of families with children; isolation in relations and from the point of view of the structure; question of relationship of selected social pathologies and family/ private life; private life of members of ?total institutions? and private life in large collectivities

Learning outcomes
The aim is to introduce the students in the sociology of the family and private life in the contemporary society and, especially, to entrain to understanding questions a social worker can be confronted with.
The students will acquire an overview on the social context, in which family and private life of contemporary individuals occurs and which influences and conditions them. They will be able to use their knowledge in analysis and solution of problems met in their future social workers practice.
