Course content
The aim of the seminar is to acquaint students with the issues of corporate social responsibility, with the possibility of creating partnerships between sectors of the national economy and social entrepreneurship projects in the European environment. Students will learn to distinguish between the possible legal forms of social firms and adhere to standards in the design of new companies. The course will enable students to understand the importance of the social economy in the Czech and European context and its contribution to the value of partnerships emerging sectors. Students will learn the subjects of social business abroad and in the Czech Republic, understand the role of the social economy and its stakeholders, learn to compare the legal form of social enterprise and explain the importance of the social economy to local development.

Learning outcomes
The seminar aims at making the student familiar with the issue of corporate responsibility and potentials of partnerships between various sectors of national economics and social entrepreneurship projects in European context. The student will distinguish various possible legal forms of social firms and will learn to set up standards when establishing new ones. The course will enable the student to understand the significance of social economy in Czech as well as European contexts and its contribution to values of cross-sectoral partnerships. The student will get familiar with subjects of social entrepreneurship abroad as well as within the CR, understand the role of social economy and its subject and acquire the ability to compare various legal forms of social businesses and explain the significance of social economy for local development.
Student will gain an ability to react to new trends brought about by sectoral developments and European trends in cross-sectoral cooperation in integration of socially excluded persons into the labor market, will understand the role of civil organizations at establishing social economy subjects and will distinguish various possible legal forms of social economy and demonstrate basic orientation in the forms of their financial sustainability.
Prerequisites
Sound knowledge of legislature relevant to institutions of for-profit as well as non-profit organizations and their economic characteristics represent an entry-qualification of the course.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

Student is required to pass a written exam proving his/her understanding of developing discipline of social economy and its subjects - carriers of social and public added value. The student is required to work with the learning objects, which have been created for the concrete subject and are available for authorized students in LMS EDIS.
