Course content
|
This introductory seminar will introduce students to the general principles of academic work, including how to work with online sources, and will equip them with the skills needed to use electronic resources, online archives, and book search services. This introduction will include, among other things, a summary of formal and citation rules. The overall goal of the seminar is to provide an overview of the possibilities for working with academic sources in their studies and to develop students' ability to approach these sources critically.

The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the university environment, their orientation in the field and studies as well as the basics of writing professional texts.

High school proficiency in written and spoken forms of expression

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Seminar Work
Submission of a written problem from the social field in the range of 500 words using at least 5 professional sources - the assignment of the topic will be specified in the lesson. The work must meet the formal requirements, otherwise it will not be accepted for evaluation and therefore it will not be possible to receive credit.
