Course content
|
Active participation in the activities of the selected institution in the field of social work, especially with a focus on work with children and youth, including adults. Familiarity with the job content of the social worker. Basic skills in planning, organizing and managing activities in the field of social work. Participation in the research activities of the staff of the Christian Social Work Department.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the professional practice is to understand the selected institution's activities in social work, with a focus on work with children and youth, as well as adults, including the job content of a social worker. Basic skills in planning, organizing, and managing activities in the field of social work. Typical institutions include social activation services for families with children, children's homes, NZDM, homes for seniors, and clubs for seniors. Participation in the research activities of the staff of the Christian Social Work Department.
The student becomes ready to understand and assess the situation of clients , especially children and youth as well as adults. The graduate acquires an overview of usable standard and innovative methods of working with different target groups and learns how to apply them in practice. The graduate develops professional and communication competencies needed for social work performance. With a qualified supervisor he reflects on his work, relationships and challenging situations.

Prerequisites
|
The student first undergoes theoretical training as part of a set of professional subjects and in any case is legally competent to work with children and youth (he is not prohibited for this activity).

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Analyssis of the Student's Portfolio, Final Report
The student must apply for the internship. The conditions for applying are specified in the internship methodology. The student is obliged to observe the agreed number of hours at the workplace (i.e. 100% attendance). The student is expected to conscientiously perform assigned tasks by the department at the workplace, and at the same time is expected to actively participate in the activities also assigned by the mentor during the internship. The student is obliged to submit the first version of the final thesis (according to the methodology form) within two weeks from the date of completion of the internship, the recognition of which is a condition for granting the credit. Requirements for fulfilment: The student must attend the mandatory entry seminar of the internship as well as the exit seminar where he presents the results of his thesis.
