Learning outcomes
The course Financial management is aimed at introducing the students to the content and purpose of financial management, defining objectives of financial management and risks involved. The student will acquire knowledge of determining the optimal financial and capital structure, managing fixed as well as current assets and basic financial analysis, planning and identifying external and internal financial resources. The discipline also covers the whole process of project financial management - from analysis of the need of the project till its evaluation.
Student will acquire an ability to interconnect the content with finacial demands in institutions as well as their individual projects, will learn how to plan and assess financial indicators and understand the need of transparent exploitation of all resources used by institutions in social services.
Prerequisites
The student - bachelor - will be familiar with: basic concepts of macroeconomics, basics of business economics, legal forms of entrepreneurship, structure and organization forms of businesses, process of establishing a business, basics of personnel management, business information system, typology of national economics according to all categories, structure of public and civil sectors, legal forms of NGOs, process of establishing a NGO, characteristics of NGO activity (primary, secondary), NGO financing issues, basics of project management in social sphere

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

Student is required to pass a written exam that will prove his/her knowledge of management of financial processes in organizations and skill in assessment of economic indicators. At the same time he/she will demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislature applied on subjects established for non-profit purposes.
