Course content
|
The subject The Basics of Sociology introduces sociology as a science, shortly introduces its history and basic paradigms and theoretical outcomes, including basic concepts (in their relevant context).

Learning outcomes
|
The aim is to give students basic information on sociology as a social scientific discipline, its approaches and subject of interest and to introduce basic terminology. The subject innovation has been supported by the project Support of Interdisciplinary studies and Study Programmes Innovations at Palacký University in Olomouc, CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0091.
Students will learn to use gained knowledge (especially acquired terminology) in reading of sociological texts and work with them.

Prerequisites

- monitoring of events in society.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam, Seminar Work
Active participation in the seminars (with preparation), a credit paper. The student is required to work with the learning objects, which have been created for the concrete subject and are available for authorized students in LMS EDIS.
