Learning outcomes
On the basis of the structure developed by authors Pompey / Ross (1998), characteristics / marks / principles which contemporary social Charity practice should fulfil will be presented. The explanation of the topic is illustrated by many exemplas of practice. The subject innovation has been supported by the project Support of Interdisciplinary studies and Study Programmes Innovations at Palacký University in Olomouc, CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0091.
Students will become familiar with significant signs of social Charity practice and gain criteria by which they can competently evaluate and develop social Charity practice at all levels and in all contexts. They will significantly develop their professional competence in the context of social work of Church organizations and gain opportunity to view Charity practice of Churches in its diversity and unity.

Assessment methods and criteria
Seminar Work

Credit paper in which students will reflect the application of subject characteristics / signs / principles of helping practice on examples of Church Charity organizations (Caritas, Home for the Elderly, Maltese Help, Sant'Aegidio Community, Charity Shelter ...). The text of this paper will be in the range of minimum 3 and maximum 5 A4 pages. The student is required to work with the learning objects, which have been created for the concrete subject and are available for authorized students in LMS EDIS.
