Course content
|
The following ethical theories will be discussed and critically considered: eudaimonism (Aristotle) hedonism (Aristipp) ethical formalism (Kant) utilitarianism (Mill, Bentham) consequentialism ethical relativism ethical dilemmas Special consideration will be given to the application of these theories to the great ethical issues of our times.

Learning outcomes
|
Introduction into ethics by way of selected issues. Focus on those related with social pedagogy and social work.
Students will gain orientation in basic types of ethical argumentation and will be able to evaluate such an argumentation critically.

Prerequisites
|
The strong command of the history of the Western civilization and the basic capability to the argumentation.
