Course content

Aristotelian hylomorphism, theory of causes, views on the universe in their development, methodology of science; the concept of ontology and its method, basic notions in ontology: being, essence, God.

Learning outcomes
|
This course systematically introduces basic philosophical problems of cosmology and ontology. To understand these topics the course starts with an introduction into logic and hermeneutics, which mediates abilities necessary for the analysis and interpretation of texts. Practical work with selected philosophical texts is part of this course. The subject innovation has been supported by the project Support of Interdisciplinary studies and Study Programmes Innovations at Palacký University in Olomouc, CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0091.
Students will gain orientation in basic problems of philosophical hermeneutics, ontology and cosmology.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam
Understanding of problems in the field, written test. The student is required to work with the learning objects, which have been created for the concrete subject and are available for authorized students in LMS EDIS.
