Main topics of the lectures: 1. Introduction to legal theory. Family law systematics. Sources of legal regulation. 2. Cohabitation of persons in a partnership relationship (marriage, registered partnership, unmarried cohabitation). 3. General characteristics of relations between spouses and partners. 4. Property relations between spouses and partners. 5. Parental responsibility. 6. Maintenance obligation. Alternative maintenance. 7. General characteristics of procedural law. Contentious proceedings. 8. Proceedings in matters of custody of minors. 9. Interim measures and special interim measures. 10. Foster care. 11. Social and legal protection of children.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this course is to provide students with knowledge to enable them to acquire basic knowledge of key legislation governing family law. Furthermore, this will also include knowledge of civil procedure law, so that students are able to prepare and process basic administration addressed the court. Lectures will focus on theoretical knowledge. Workshops will deepen the theoretical knowledge and practical experience of practical examples of analysis, drafting and filing process by visiting trial. After graduating this course, students should be able to focus on legislation and apply the knowledge gained during their social work undertaken with clients.
In the Family Law course, students are introduced to the legal regulation affecting family relationships. Knowledge of this issue is essential for successful and properly implemented social work with families. Students of the course acquire knowledge of the legal regulation of family law relations in the scope necessary for the performance of social work, including property relations. They also deepen their knowledge of social and legal protection of children. Students are familiarized with the procedural legal regulation so that they are able to adequately provide assistance in civil court proceedings. Therefore, students prepare individual motions to initiate legal proceedings themselves.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Student performance
Requirements for credit as a prerequisite for admission to the examination: 1. Participation in teaching according to the rules of UP Olomouc. 2. Preparation of 2 procedural submissions based on the assignment. 3. Preparation of a structured hearing from a court hearing. Examination: Oral examiantion. The list of test circuits is published one month before the end of the course.
