Course content
Adversarial and inquisitorial proces system. The beginning of the Inquisition institution in the Middle Ages. The Roman Inquisition in Early Modern Period: Holy Office. Spanish State Inquisition The inquisitorial systém in the Czech Lands. Witch Hunting, its beginnings, main characteristics and interpretation patterns. Witch Trails in the Czech Lands. Epilogue: Vampyrism in Moravia and in whole Europe.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to familiarise students with the developpement of inquisitorial proces systém and of the institution of inquisition. One of the most famous types of application of the inquisitorial proces is the witch hunting in the early modern period.
Students will learn to understand the continuity, complexity, and relativity of the historical development and to be able to form their own judgement on the activities in the present.
