Course content
|
The concept of Whtchcraft on the autumn of Midlle Ages. The Whitch-Hunts in the Europe od Early Modern Age. The concrete exameples: the Whitch-Trials in the northern Moravia at the end of 17th Cent. Epilogue: The moravian Vampyrism of the 18th Centursy (from the cases of Libavá to Dracula).

Learning outcomes
|
The course concerns witch hunts in Europe in the 15th - 18th centuries. These will be examined in relation to a Church history and in the context of the imagination about the enchanted world.
Students will learn on the exemple of Whitch-Trials to understand the continuity, complexity, and relativity of the historical development of the Church in Early Modern Times and to be able to form their own judgement on the activities in the present.
