Course content

Evangelization of Europe ? Slavs. Sts Cyril and Methodius´s missions. The Church in the Medieval Czech state. The Avignon Papacy and the Great Papal Schism. The Church in Czech Lands in the period of Luxemburg rule. The Hussite movement, the Hussite wars and the development of the Czech Church in the 15th century. The Council Constance and Basel. Conciliarism. Church in 19th and 20th century.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this course is to understand the Church history in the Czech Lands. The subject innovation has been supported by the project Support of Interdisciplinary studies and Study Programmes Innovations at Palacký University in Olomouc, CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0091.
Students will learn to understand the continuity, complexity, and relativity of the historical development of the Church in the Middle Ages in the Chzech Lands and to be able to form their own judgement on the activities in the present.

The final colloquium. The student is required to work with the learning objects, which have been created for the concrete subject and are available for authorized students in LMS EDIS.
