Learning outcomes
|
The focus of the lecture is a study of ancient Greek, alternatively as advanced or complimentary study of classic or New testament Greek. Student will learn basic grammatical structure of the Greek language (morphology and syntax) with regard to his/her existing knowledge, and will proceed to independent reading of Greek texts with help of a vocabulary. Text will be selected with regard of student's dissertation (classical Greek, New testament Greek, the Septuagint, literature of the apostolic age, Greek patristics). Student will also get acquainted with existing grammar books and lexicons for classical Greek, New testament, the Septuagint and ancient Christian literature.
The student will gain the necessary knowledge for independent reading of Greek authors.

Prerequisites
|
Prerequisite is a basic knowledge of the ancient Greek language and / or an interest in reading a Greek text relevant to the topic of the doctoral thesis.

Dialog, Written exam
Active approach of the student to teaching and ability to translate Greek text with the help of a dictionary
