The course will address the issue of psycho-spiritual development from a number of perspectives, including: the psychodynamic approach (Washburn), humanistic and transpersonal psychology (Rowan), Piagetian genetic epistemology (Fowler), and the integral approach (Wilber). The theoretical models will be related to two kinds of practice: 1) psychotherapy, 2) contemplative practice. Parallels will be shown between schemes of psycho-spiritual development and some traditional "maps" of the spiritual journey (Teresa of Avila, John of the Cross, etc.). Special attention will be paid to the concepts of the formation of spiritual intelligence (Fowler, Wilber).
