The subject is taught throughout the regular study period. Each year individual students present their progress on their dissertation (each student thereby presents their dissertation project three times). The subject is conceived so that ideally all the students and the supervisors of each year meet together with the aim of learning about the themes of the dissertations throughout the doctoral studies. The evaluation committee is made up of two members of the examination board and the supervisors of the given dissertation, who is in the position of chair. As part of the course, students present the progress they have made on their dissertation. As part of the presentation of the format of the dissertation, students present their project and the thesis of the dissertation, discuss the chosen methodology and the theoretical framework and make an acquaintance with the detailed results. students develop, practice and cultivate basic skills and abilities: in the area of writing: ability to create bibliographical references, knowledge of ethical questions of the principles of academic work, written presentation of results, various genres of specialized texts, structuring a text, time planning of the work, in the area of presentations: participation in specialized discussion, presenting and defending one's own opinions on the basis of convincing and scholarly based argumentation, ability to have an open attitude to other disciplines and methodological perspectives. The commission (and students among each other) provides the student with critical feedback for the particular steps in their research and in the preparation of their dissertation. Aim of the course: students gain experience with presentation of their own results and discussion about it for the specialized public, students gain experience with the position of the examination board, students and supervisors obtain an overview of the ongoing research of their colleagues and have the possibility to contribute and thereby qualitatively move forward, students prepare for the final defense of their dissertation.
