Course content
|
This is a general introductory course for students of development studies. The course is divided into two parts. In the first part students are introduced to selected topics in international development. The second part provides students with foundations of research methodology - methods of reading and writing scientific texts, research methods and presentation of results.

Learning outcomes
|
The main aim of the course is to introduce students to selected topics in international development and foundations of research methodology.
Upon completion of the course student should have a basic overview of the area of development studies and research methodology.

General overview of the situation and development in developing regions.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Essay
For succesful completion of the course, students are required to actively participate in class and write an essay on a given topic.
