Course content
|
The course provides a brief overview of quantitative methods that are applicable for analysis and research in the field of development studies, with a special focus on introduction to regression analysis. This course will emphasize practical application and results interpretation of econometric development research rather than econometric theory itself. Students are tought how to work with a statistical software to analyze datasets.

Learning outcomes
|
The main aim of the course is to introduce the use of the quantitative methods, with a special focus on the introductory econometrics and regression analysis, as well as its practical applications within the field of development studies.
Upon completion of the course students should be able to use a statistical software and datasets and to interpret results of econometric development research and run their own basic regressions.

Assessment methods and criteria

Oral exam, Written exam, Student performance, Dialog, Seminar Work
For succesful completion of the course students are required to write up seminar thesis with an application of a selected method, to obtain knowledge within the extent of lectures and literature and to gain the ability to work with statistical software
