Course content
The course will focus on the following themes: - frequencies, percentages, proportions - graphs - measures of central tendency and dispersion - normal curve - introduction to hypotheses testing - introduction to correlation and regression analysis - etc.

Learning outcomes
The main aim of the course is to provide strundets with theoretical and practical knowledge of statistical methods and with the ability to apply it in field of geography and development studies.
Upon completion of the course students should be acquainted with elementary statistical procedures and methods used in geographical and development research.

Oral exam, Written exam, Student performance, Dialog, Seminar Work

For succesful completion of the course, students are required to write up seminar thesis aimed at selected statistical methods (credit), obtain knowledge within the extent of lectures and literature (exam) and gain the ability to work with a statistical software
