Course content
After completing this course the student should have a general overview of the current development indicators, indicators of sustainability and quality of life - focusing on their economic, social and environmental aspects. Part of the course is to acquaint the student with not only classic and most commonly used indicators (HDI and its variants, GINI coefficient, index of quality of life), but also the performance of complex and alternative, yet less widely used indexes such as the State of the Future Index (SOFI), Gross National Happiness (GNH), Environmental Performance Index (EPI), the Ecological Footprint (EF), Happy Planet Index (HPI) and others. During the course, students will assume methods of calculating the various indexes, about the method of TIA and will be able, on the basis of selected variables and their time lines to calculate and interpret the results properly.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce a survey of classical and alternative indexes of development, to explain them with the indicators and variables entering into their calculation. Emphasis will be placed on the methods of calculation of indexes and their interpretation. Special attention will be paid to the indexes of development, sustainability, state of the future and quality of life

Prerequisites
Knowledge and skills in mathematics - in the range of the curriculum of secondary school.
