Course content |
Development theory, the causes and consequences of unequal development at an international level. Origin and historical progress of development aid. Definition and tendencies in international development cooperation. Modalities of development aid. Management of development aid. Bilateral and multilateral development aid. The role of significant participants in international development - traditional bilateral donors (DAC donors), new bilateral donors (non-DAC donors - South-South cooperation, specifics of Arab donors, and the China phenomenon), multilateral donors - the United Nations Organization and its agencies, the European Union, international financial institutions, non-governmental organizations, corporations, and private companies. The effectiveness of development aid. Development aid in the context of sustainable development goals (SDGs) - especially environmental aid and aid aimed at supporting democratization processes.
