The course Media Communication in Theory and Practice is based on the basic requirements of the Framework educational programme for primary education within the framework of the cross-cutting theme of Media Education. The course focuses on the perceptual component (receiving information - e.g. from mass media, Internet media, social media), as well as the production component (creating one's own media content). The course focuses on the development of media literacy and critical thinking skills of future teachers. Objectives: The student will be able to: - explain the role of public media in a democratic society. - recognize and verify the truthfulness of news in an online environment (as applicable). - provide examples of reputable and alternative media (with respect to truthfulness). information). - suggest appropriate tasks/exercises to enhance students' media literacy. - recognize the media stereotype and prototype. - classify and list types of advertising, characterize it - recognise techniques of media manipulation.
