The course Contemporary Czech and World Literature focuses on the perceptual component of the interpretation of literary monuments of that period and emphasizes the mastery of basic theoretical procedures leading to the interpretation of works in the context of the development of literacy and applied knowledge. of critical thinking. Objectives: The student will be able to: - define and explain the socio-cultural framework of the late 20th century and the first decade of the 21st century. Students will be able to. - outline the basic developmental tendencies of Czech prose and poetry at the turn of the millennium. - illustrate the social development with examples of specific literary works. - classify and interpret the defining works as constitutive manifestations of the sub-verbal artistic lineages. - recognize the artistic and social significance of a work through specific literary examples. - apply primary methodological practices of interpreting a work related to the development of reading literacy development. - justify a critical approach to interpreting a work and respond appropriately in discussions over the artistic merit of a work.
