Course content
1. European and Czech society at the threshold of modern times 2. Of thought and ideologies of the 18th - 19 century (liberalism, socialism, realism) 3. Society of the Czech lands late 18th and the first half of the 19th Century 4. Social and political developments since the mid-19th century until 1914 5. Of thought and ideologies of the 20th century (communism, fascism, national socialism) 6. Nationalist and leftist threat to the integrity of Czechoslovakia after its creation and first years of existence 7. Political and economic development of Czechoslovakia in the years 1920 - 1938 8. National question in Czechoslovakia until 1938 9. Czechoslovakia and the Czech-Slovakia in the years 1938 - 1939 10. Czech lands during the occupation 11.Conclusion of the war and set the parameters to change the social system in Czechoslovakia 12. The victory of the communist totalitarian regime in Czechoslovakia 13. Czechoslovakia since 1960 14. The Jewish population in Czech republic.

Learning outcomes
Aim of teaching is consolidating and deepening basic knowledge of recent national history, and in the wider context of European history. Particular attention will be paid to current issues for today's time.
An overview of the development of Czech society in the modern era, including the ideological, economic and political outreach.
Prerequisites
Basic orientation in the events events at the level of secondary school.
