Course content
Interpretation of basic concepts and theories of the way of life and their application to specific problems of the contemporary society. Talk about different aspects of the way of life. Subject of Sociology of the way of life The standard of living and quality of life Theory of the way of life (structural functionalism, interactionism, postpragmatismus, postmarxismus, postmodernism) Changes of the way of life (cultural framework of the way of life, social determinants of the way of life) Biography and life course The meaning of life and consumer life Space and time and the way of life Fashion, luxury and the way of life Generational and gender aspects of the way of life Leisure and the way of life The educational system of the Czech society and the way of life

Learning outcomes
Course Objectives 1. Analyse the key elements of modern lifestyles and their impact on individuals and society. 2. Discuss the social, economic and environmental challenges associated with modern lifestyles. 3. to integrate concepts of sustainability and green skills into the discussion of lifestyle. 4. Explore modern lifestyles comprehensively and learn green skills naturally as part of a broader discussion of sustainability.
Students theoretically define and interpret the way of life. Students are able to categorize particular manifestations of the way of life. Students are able to discuss various aspects of the way of life and substantiate their conclusions with relevant arguments.

Assessment methods and criteria
Essay

The student will receive course credit for the presented paper and for active participation in the discussion at each seminar. It necessary 80% participation. Colloquium will be held in the form of essays. Student chooses a topic of seminar topics of this course. Essays range: up to 9,000 characters with spaces. Student must demonstrate the following competences: theoretically defines and interprets the way of life. He/she is able to categorize particular manifestations of the way of life. He/she is able to discuss various aspects of the way of life. He/she is able to support his/her conclusions by relevant arguments.
